Within each of us there is an opportunity to recognise that it is us and only us that can hold the power to truly transform and evolve, and that no matter what has transpired in the past or whatever is currently happening around and to you, will not affect you unless you let it.
This is not some airy fairy thinking, it is backed by science and is known as Epigenetics. Epigenetics is when you can alter the very expression of your genes by changing the environment in which it grows in, which is the chemistry of the blood that nurtures it.
Dr Bruce Lipton who back in the 1960's did an experiment on this showed that genetically identical stem cells when grown in 3 different blood culture mediums grew different bodily parts, and this is all from the same genetic cells. What we have been given to think is that our inherited genetics exclusively controls what we become as they turn on or off on their own for no known reason, therefore we have no control over what they evolve into. Dr Bruce Lipton explains that genetics are just blueprints, so plans drawn generations and generations before you as a type of instruction manual for your cells. However, it is the architect that needs to initiate the plans and choose what belongs to the brief of the project and what does not. You see we are constantly the ones in control of how we are expressing ourselves, right down to the way our physical body operates. Our blood chemistry is packed with information that gets sent to each cell for it to function and perform and that information is controlled by the brain and our consciousness. If you think about stress and anxiety, when felt this has serious implications on our physical body that can manifest into autoimmune diseases such as alopecia and eczema. When we think and feel our brain translates those into chemicals such as dopamine which is a chemical that is released when you experience love, excitement and joy, it makes your body feel good and are linked to pleasure, motivation and satisfaction. These levels drop when we are not feeling these emotions which directly affect the cells and can be the reason why depression and low motivation sets in. The saying "As above so below, as below so above" comes to mind, because if we are in a toxic external environment this can have a negative impact on the way we behave, it makes sense for the tiniest parts of us to also change based on what it lives in too.
We have the power to gain a greater level of control of our feelings and thoughts by raising our consciousness about them. We have to realise that we are not robots that automatically feel and think according to some scenario that is programmed inside us, we are not victims, we are creators. Being more conscious could be observing your automatic thoughts, feelings and responses in situations and asking yourself is this how you want to feel, think and respond. Visualisation is so powerful in creating different feelings and reactions, and repetition is the key towards making these new ways of being stick. Think about what environment you want your cells to grow in, mentally and physically feed your body the chemicals it needs to thrive so that it can provide you with a full life ahead.
